Having a hysterectomy is not the only option. Fibroids can be eliminated by making healthy lifestyle changes.
What are fibroids?
Fibroids are tumors that develop in the female reproductive system. They are classified as noncancerous growths and appear during childbearing years. They are also referred to as leiomymos or myomas.
Symptoms
Many women are unaware they have fibroids because they do not have any symptoms. If your fibroids DO cause symptoms, you may experience one or more of the following:
-Heavy or painful periods
Fibroids do not disrupt the normal menstrual cycle but they can cause heavy or painful bleeding. Heavy bleeding can cause anemia (a reduction of oxygen-carrying red blood cells).
-Abdominal pain
If you have fibroids, particularly large ones, you may experience discomfort or bloating in your stomach. You may also experience pain in your back and legs.
-Frequent urination and constipation
If your fibroids press on your bladder, you may need to urinate frequently. Fibroids can also press on your rectum (large intestine), which can cause constipation.
-Pain or discomfort during sex
If you have fibroids growing near to your vagina, or cervix , you may experience pain or discomfort during sexual intercourse.
Fibroids can be as small as an orange seed or as big as a grapefruit.
What Causes Fibroids?
Research shows that hormonal imbalances are responsible for the excessive production of estrogen which promotes the growth of fibroids. This is why women notice fibroids shrink or disappear around menopause because estrogen levels are lower.
Diet plays a major role as well. Certain foods increase estrogen levels in the body.
Foods To Avoid
-Red meat
It has been associated with an increased risk of developing fibroids. Factory farmed animals are injected with antibiotics and fed soy. Soy throws off estrogen levels and blocks the body's ability to absorb minerals like iron, zinc, calcium and magnesium.
-Dairy
Dairy products, specifically milk, yogurt and cheese contain estrogen. It's packed with artificial growth hormones and synthetic estrogen. Estrogen is given to cows to speed up their growth and force them to produce unnatural amounts of milk. It's also extremely inflammatory which increases symptoms.
-Starchy foods
White bread, white pasta and potatoes. Starchy foods turn into sugar that increase insulin and cause sugar imbalances. Hormone imbalance contributes to fibroids. These foods are often void of any nutritional value.
-Caffeine & Alcohol
Caffeine and alcohol place stress on the liver and inhibit its ability to eliminate excess estrogen.
Vitamin D
Studies show low Vitamin D levels are associated with an increased risk of uterine fibroids. Vitamin D inhibits fibroid cell growth and has been shown to shrink fibroid tumors.
Fibroids and Women of Color
-Women of color are 2-3 times more likely to have fibroids than white women.
-Women of color tend to get fibroids at younger ages. They are bigger and show more symptoms.
-Women of color have a higher rate of being hospitalized due to those symptoms than white women.
-Women of color have higher rates of their uterus being surgically removed which eliminates ability to get pregnant.
-About 90 percent of women of color develop fibroids by the time they're 50.
-In the U.S nearly 500,000 of women have had a hysterectomy.
As it relates to the menstrual, cycle we’re raising young girls to think heavy, painful menstrual cycles are a part of life. Recently I read an article about women of color and fibroids. The information left me extremely disappointed. We have to stop normalizing reproductive issues. The message of “you’re going to get fibroids at some point in your life; it’s inevitable” is unacceptable. The author spoke about minimizing heavy bleeding. I expected her to advise taking herbs like red raspberry leaf and alfalfa or eliminating processed foods. Instead she recommended birth control and intrauterine devices. Research shows changing your diet can assist the body with processing, eliminating and detoxing excess estrogen. This will in turn expel mucus, toxins and inflammation that trigger fibroids and their growth. The right foods will balance hormones and provide the body with the tools it needs to function properly.
Foods To Eat
I recommend eating plants. Sounds simple enough, right? They consist of fruit, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds. Studies show that women with vegetarian and plant based diets have lower estrogen levels than those with meat centered diets.

Maintaining A Healthy Weight
Estrogen can be overproduced by abdominal fat. Being overweight makes you susceptible to fibroids which can lead to even more weight gain. The more you sweat, the better so its important to get moving. Exercising can be as simple as taking walks around the block.
Fibroids Linked To Hair Products
Studies show a link between fibroids and women of color. We are more likely to straighten and relax our hair which introduces toxic chemicals into our scalps. Not only have these chemicals been linked to fibroids but that have also been linked to onset puberty. The chemicals are known as endocrine disrupters which means they disturb the natural functions of the endocrine system which is responsible for the production of hormones.
Herbal Recommendations
Having a hysterectomy is not the only option. Fibroids can be eliminated by making healthy lifestyle changes.
More than half of the women I’ve assisted with fibroids have had the surgery prior to my services and they came right back. If you don’t get to the root of what’s causing fibroids, that may very well be your reality. Think about it, if a woman has her fibroids surgically removed why are the fibroids growing back?
Surgeons don’t have the ability to cut out fibroids entirely because they can’t get close enough to the root without causing damage to the uterus. The fibroids are stuck to the uterine wall. Doctors get as close as they can and leave the rest. The goal is to shrink them naturally and provide the body with the tools it needs to expel them naturally. We do this by balancing estrogen levels and reducing inflammation occurring in the vaginal canal.
Anti-Fibroid Tonic or Capsules This tonic is formulated to nourish the female endocrine system, support estrogen, prevent fibroids, combat existing ones.
Iron Tonic or capsules Daily dose of iron rich herbs.
Liver Cleanse Removes excess estrogen, toxins and aids the body's detoxification.
Full Body Detox The digestive tract contains most of the body's immune system so parasite cleansing is always my recommendation when kickstarting your wellness journey. The parasite cleanse gives your body the ability to expel mucus, toxins and inflammation which fuel reproductive issues. It also gets your body going in the right direction and allows you to get the maximum benefit of any herbal regimen that follows.
Once the parasite cleanse is complete, I recommend a colon cleanse and lymphatic cleanse. Colon cleanse to remove the years worth of toxic waste, bacteria and fecal matter. The lymphatic cleanse to cleanse toxins and debris from the cells and alleviate symptoms of a congested lymph. These products are also available separately.
Electric Multivitamins Iodine is essential in shrinking fibroids. It can be found in sea veggies like Sea Moss, Bladderwrack and Kelp. The electric multivitamins are iodine rich and contain 92 of the 102 minerals our bodies need to thrive.
